It is open to students in grades 9-12th. It is often named as the world's largest science fair for high school students! Each May, more than 1500 students from roughly 70 countries and territories compete in the fair for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prizes, including one $75,000 and two $50,000 college scholarships. All prizes together amount to over $4,070,000. Two awards ceremonies are held including: Special Awards Organization Presentation (which now includes the Government Awards Presentations) and the Grand Awards Ceremony.
In order to be a finalist at this fascinating fair, you have to first be a top award winner at a local, statewide, or national affiliated fair. Check on this link to search for all affiliated fairs near you: https://findafair.societyforscience.org
Many members of our STEMinate organization have also been finalists at the Regeneron ISEF fair for multiple years. If you are interested in seeking any additional advice pertaining on how to make an outstanding science fair project, don't hesitate to email: [email protected]!

Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS)
The Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS) (open to high school seniors residing in the USA) is the nation's most prestigious pre-college science and mathematics competition. It recognizes and empowers our nation’s most promising young scientists who are developing ideas that could solve society’s most urgent challenges. The Regeneron STS competition as been termed by President George W. Bush as the "Super Bowl of Science." Each year, nearly 1,900 students enter the Regeneron STS, submitting original research in critically important scientific fields of study. Unique among high school competitions, the Regeneron STS focuses on identifying, inspiring, and engaging the most promising scientists among the nation’s high school seniors.
Each year, approximately 1,800 papers are submitted. The top 300 applicants are announced in mid-January and since 2017 each semifinalist and their school receives $2,000 from the title sponsor. In late January, the 40 Finalists (the award winners) are informed. In March, the Finalists are flown to Washington, D.C. where they are interviewed for the top ten spots, which have awards up to $250,000 The judges have included Glenn T. Seaborg (Nobel Laureate with Edwin M. McMillan in Chemistry, 1951) and Joseph Hooton Taylor, Jr. (Nobel Laureate in Physics, 1993). All Finalists receive awards of at least $25,000

National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program (open to U.S. Residents in Grades 9-12) is a tri-service – U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force – sponsored STEM competition which promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at the high school level and publicly recognizes students for outstanding achievement. By connecting talented students, their teachers, and research professionals at affiliated symposia and by rewarding research excellence, JSHS aims to widen the pool of trained talent prepared to conduct research and development vital to our nation.
Individual students compete for scholarships and recognition by presenting the results of their original research before a panel of judges and an audience of their peers. Regional scholarships as well as eight national top awards of up to $12,000 are among the prizes available. Participants and winners can also qualify for the Presidential Scholarship. Different regions/states run on different schedules.
Members of our STEMinate organization have also been finalists and winners at the National JSHS Symposium. If you are interested in seeking any additional advice pertaining on how to make an outstanding science research submission for this symposium, don't hesitate to email: [email protected]!
